How to Install the Plugin
Get up and running in under 2 minutes with these simple steps.
Upload the Plugin
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New and click Upload Plugin. Choose the optimatio-bulk-up-sells-cross-sells-manager.zip file and click Install Now.
Activate the Plugin
After installation completes, click Activate Plugin. The plugin requires WooCommerce to be installed and active.
Access the Plugin
Navigate to WooCommerce → Linked Products in your admin menu. You’ll see the Bulk Linker wizard ready to use.
Pro Tip
If you’re upgrading to Pro, simply install the Pro version over the free version. Your settings and history will be preserved.
Using the Bulk Linker Wizard
The Bulk Linker is your main tool for managing cross-sells and up-sells. Here’s how to use it step by step.
Select Source Products
Choose which products you want to modify. In the free version, you can select up to 50 products manually. Pro users can use filters to select unlimited products by category, tag, attribute, price range, or stock status.
Choose Your Action
Add: Append new links to existing ones.
Remove: Remove specific links from products.
Replace: Clear existing links and set new ones (Pro only).
Select Link Type
Choose whether you’re managing Cross-sells (shown in cart) or Up-sells (shown on product pages).
Pick Target Products
Select which products should be linked to your source products. The preview counter shows “Current / After” numbers so you know exactly how links will change.
Preview Changes
Review the summary showing exactly what will happen. You’ll see how many products will be affected and sample before/after comparisons.
Apply Changes
Click Apply to start the operation. Large jobs run in the background via Action Scheduler, so you can safely navigate away.

Common Issues & Solutions

Cross-sells not showing on frontend
The plugin writes relationships to product metadata. Whether they display depends on your theme. Check the product in Products → Edit → Linked Products. If links are there, the plugin worked correctly. Your theme may need its WooCommerce templates adjusted to display cross-sells.
Cross-sells not showing in cart
WooCommerce relies on the woocommerce_cart_collaterals hook. Some themes remove this. Add this snippet to your child theme’s functions.php:

Background jobs not running
Large operations use Action Scheduler. If your site has WP-Cron disabled, jobs will pause. Ensure DISABLE_WP_CRON is not set to true, or set up a real cron job to trigger wp-cron.php.
Plugin menu not appearing
The plugin requires WooCommerce. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and activated. The menu appears under WooCommerce → Linked Products.
Theme Compatibility Note
Cross-sell and up-sell display is controlled by your theme, not this plugin. We only manage the relationships. If products aren’t displaying, check your theme’s WooCommerce template overrides or contact your theme developer.
